One of the most beautiful beaches of the island and perhaps of the whole Aegean Sea. It is awarded a Blue Flag and in essence, it is not a beach but a series of sandy coves that form three large beaches and several smaller ones with fine sand and clear blue warm water. Parts of the beach are equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas and surrounded by picturesque small taverns and other parts are secluded and peaceful. The distance from Chora of Ios to Manganari is the longest one can travel on the island, about 23 km. However, the road is paved and along the way one will encounter many places with great views.
Agia Theodoti initially impresses the visitor with its magnitude. Almost 650 meters of golden sand unfold as one approaches the beach. The crystal sea of Agia Theodoti meets the horizon with a wonderful view of Heraklia and Amorgos. It is one of the quietest locations on the island, ideal for relaxation. There are parts of the beach that are equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds but there is also plenty of space where you can use your own equipment. Agia Theodoti is located at a distance of 10 km from Chora of Ios.
A Blue Flag awarded beach and one of the most famous beaches of the Cyclades. It is located just 3 km from Chora of Ios, it is easily accessible and offers impressive sea views along the way. Mylopotas is a beach full of activity that offers, in addition to the wonderful sand and blue sea, a range of establishments, suitable for all tastes. One can enjoy beach bars with umbrellas, sunbeds and music throughout the day, a large selection of water sports (windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing & kayaking, etc.) and a number of restaurants and taverns. Mylopotas beach is one of the most popular destinations in Ios.
Psathi is a large and secluded beach on the east side of the island. It is about 17km from Ios Town and the road is paved. The beach offers a part organized with umbrellas and sunbeds but also a large part where one can enjoy the absolute silence, the beautiful sea and the view to Heraklion. The beach, at the point where the road ends, is a mixture of sand and pebbles, but it is worth a little walk to discover the most beautiful, sandy part of it.
Koumbara is located very close to the port of Ios and is one of the most popular beaches on the island. It has received a Blue Flag award and it combines sea like crystal with a golden sandy beach. Furthermore, in Koumbara you can admire a special landscape and one of the most famous sunsets in Ios. The beach is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds and you can also find beach bars, restaurants and traditional taverns.
Opposite the port of Ios hides a small cove with rocks at both ends. Tzamaria, although it is so close to the port, is a beach that is not very well known. Apart from its unspoiled beauty, it possesses another big advantage, it is protected from the winds. The sea is always very calm and the water is shallow and warm. A beautiful “secret” destination where you can enjoy the sea and the surrounding nature, while gazing at the ships and boats sailing in and out of the port.
The historical and cultural heritage of Ios is one that is not so well known. Still, it lies here and it is waiting for you to discover it. Sites of archaeological value and monuments of tradition are scattered inside the small embrace of the island. It will be our pleasure to suggest to you worthwhile visits and tours. We will arrange for your transfer to the places of interest and because for us transportation is equally important, we will suggest stops that will give you the chance to admire nature or the endless view that many parts of the island can offer.

Paleokastro is located on the east side of the island, between Agia Theodoti and Psathi. Built on the top of a hill, it offers endless views to Paros, Naxos, Amorgos and the Small Cyclades. It is probably a Byzantine castle, from which part of the fortress and the walls are preserved. The picturesque church of Panagia Paleokastritsa is built inside the walls.
It is the oldest and best-preserved prehistoric settlement. Skarkos hill is located on the west side of Ios. An Early Cycladic settlement that is maintained in excellent condition and covers about 11 acres was discovered in the area. The overall arrangement of the settlement is clearly visible, as one can distinguish building complexes, streets and squares. Furthermore, there are preserved two-store buildings along with their courtyards and walls. The movable finds include clay and stone utensils, marble figurines as well as intact vessels. If you are in Ios, do not miss the opportunity to visit this truly unique archeological find.
An open theater with 1000 seats, built in 1997 in compliance with the ancient Greek standards. It was designed by the German architect Peter Haupt who was a fan of Ios and an honorary citizen. It is built on the old landfill of Ios, turning it into a place of culture, while marble and stone from the island were used for its creation. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy some of its excellent performances or just to admire the impressive construction and the wonderful view to Chora and the beach of Mylopotas.
The Tomb of Homer is located on the hill of Psathopyrgos, above Plakotos bay, on the north side of the island. The sight consists of the ruins of a tower of the Hellenistic period, which dominates a highly imposing landscape and offers a unique, breathtaking view. The Tomb of Homer is one of the places that is really worth visiting. A marked path of about 10 minutes leads to the monument and along that path one can find a covered kiosk that offers a limitless view of the sea in all its vastness.
